OFF ROAD ACCESS TO CAPE POINT IN JEOPARDY

A very scary thing is occurring along the outer banks of North Carolina. Take a look at the following press release from the Southern Environmental Law Center:

http://www.southernenvironment.org/newsroom/2007/10-18_hatteras_complaint.htm

On April 3rd 2008 there will be an Injunction Hearing in Raleigh NC (in the Federal Building)to determine the fate of Off Road Vehicle use along the NC outer banks. If the SELC has their way , surf fishermen and other users of these public beaches will loose access.

To the readers of this post, I urge to contact your congressional reps and voice concern on this matter. The businesses along the outer banks depend on the money brought in by the fishermen that visit this area in the Autumn to catch (and release) the big Red Drum that inhabit the surf. The only realistic way for seniors or disabled fishermen to reach the areas that hold these fish is through the use of off road vehicles.

The SELC and others are seeking to end off road vehicle use here in order to protect migratory birds. What about the "migratory fishermen" that bring so much to the economy of the Outer Banks? Our sport needs protection too.
